I”ve been meaning to post a link to one of the ever-informative threads at Sgt. Rock’s Hiking HQ (where tree-huggers and survivalists live in harmony w/nature, so long as nobody starts talking politics); well, I saw one of those links that I could not stop my fingers from clicking upon: “How to Shit in the Woods.” It’s a quick review of a book by the same name; I wondered if it’s still in print, so I went over to Amazon and voila, here it is. Fun details from the first reader review:

Despite the vulgarisms in the title and splattered throughout the text, there is a load of good information contained in this book. Having been a Boy Scout, I thought I was well prepared for these weighty contingencies. But, I found that the Boy Scout Handbook was deficient when it came to defacation.

Heh, heh, he said load.

Amazon has a special deal if you pair this purchase with Up Shit Creek: A Collection of Horrifyingly True Wilderness Toilet Misadventures.

Here’s hoping these writers have their, uh, shit down. (Sorry, that was irresistible too).
