Steve at the Wildebeat has posted his account of the cleanup of the pot plantation in Big Basin State Park. A shoot-out happened when the cops went up there and busted it last summer. While you’re in the neighborhood, the High Sierra Trail Crew has pix of the clean-up; you can see Steve interviewing people at the second page of pictures. As Steve mentions in his podcast: if you’re still smokin’ the evil weed and fancy yourself an environmentalist, keep in mind that forests are being ripped up to plant your weed. Also, very poor people from third-world countries are doing the farming and obliged to defend the farms when the cops show up. Sometimes they get killed. Not to get all preachy or anything, but how bad do you need to get stoned?
