From the Billings Gazette:

The man, whose name and hometown were not released, suffered severe facial injuries and was being treated at an Idaho hospital Wednesday evening.

The man, in his 50s, was alone and taking photos of bears along Trout Creek in Hayden Valley, park officials said. He told rangers he was attacked by a female bear with a cub. He hiked 2 to 3 miles east to the Grand Loop Road, where visitors found him around 1 p.m., the park said.
