Got a few nice comments and updates (which shows why it’s advantageous to be subscribed to my comments rss feed):
- Victoria of the Flirty n’ Dirty blog got so caught up in the spirit of Big Basin captured in my recent video that she up and broke a foot bone on a recent outing. Pic of her hot-pink cast here. So, send some bone-mending wishes Victoria’s way.
- Randy L was at Big Basin the same day, but took a different route.
- Ann reported sad news: the Schulman Visitors Center at the Ancient Bristlecone Forest near White Mountain burned to the ground a few week back. Rick of Best Hikes fame and I spent some time at the visitors center last where when we were along for 4WheelBob’s White Mountain triumph. Ann also hiked the White Mountain summit in early September.

My good friends th enorlins in Bishop are keeping me in touch with orgs looking to help in the rebuilding of the wonderful Schulman Grove Visitor Center. I’m also looking for some cash from my employer, as the USFS doesn’t have the funding to replace it.
Hey, if i can arrange that, maybe they’ll build me a little room to sleep in when i’m there…..
