John Muir, co-founder of the Sierra Club and seminal figure in the modern environmental movement, grew up on a farm in Marquette County. On this outing we&#8217;ll visit the site of his boyhood home at John Muir Memorial County Park. The park includes a section of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Ennis Lake and a wide variety of plants and animals. We&#8217;ll take some time to talk about some of John Muir&#8217;s writings and why his thoughts are still relevant to environmental and conservation issues over a century after he wrote them down.<br \/>\nThis will be an easy, leisurly walk, taking time to notice the plant and animal life that surrounded him in his formative years.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The hike&#8217;s for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=earth+day\">Earth Day<\/a>, by the way.
