How heavy is my Monkey? Well,  I just read the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trailjournals.com\/entry.cfm?id=173443\">journal of a woman who did the Skyline-to-the-Sea trail,<\/a> a mere 30something miles covered in a long weekend. It&#8217;s a hike all the Bay Area backpackers should try once &#8212; I&#8217;ve done a third of it (where I <a href=\"http:\/\/tommangan.net\/archives\/cat_big_basin_state_park.html\">learned the value of packing one&#8217;s tent poles<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><P>Long as we&#8217;re on the TJ subject, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trailjournals.com\/entry.cfm?id=172202\">here&#8217;s a guy who&#8217;s planning to thru-hike the Buckeye Trail<\/a> this summer. It circumnavigates Ohio and, apparently, has been thru-hiked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buckeyetrail.org\/discoverhike.html#journal\">only once before.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; I have Trail Journals.
