For instance, you could always climb Mount Whitney<\/a>, though this strikes me as a bit too obvious for hikers of our level of sophistication. Then there’s Mount Tom<\/a>, near Bishop, which gets few hikers. Summitpost.com has a handy search engine — here are\u00a0 all the California peaks<\/a>, sorted from highest to lowest.<\/p>\n Here’s one I’d like to check out: Snow Mountain Wilderness<\/a> in Mendocino National Forest.
