Didn&#8217;t pan out so it looks like I&#8217;ll be here for the duration. Which, given the surroundings, is hardly a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>Then I heard about the Eagle Scout&#8217;s project at Almaden Quicksilver last weekend and spent most of my spare time this past week working on a story about it for the paper (tentatively set for Jan. 31).\u00a0 So, I think I can finally get back to having a hiking blog worth reading.<\/p>\n<p>Sorry things have been so slow around here of\u00a0 late but I&#8217;m hoping they pick up.\u00a0 After all, it&#8217;s mud season now, which makes every hike that much more charming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So what happened was, I was looking into an interesting job that would&#8217;ve required relocating on the other side of the country.
