There&#8217;s always the cherished possibility of getting caught in an autumnal downpour.  For the heck of it I tracked down where I hiked in each of the past four Octobers. <\/p>\n<p><strong>2004<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2004\/10\/\">October 10:<\/a> Joseph D. Grant County Park.  This is where I learned not to to rest one&#8217;s hat on a trail marker covered in bird doo-doo. Got my first picture of a coyote on this one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2005<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2005\/10\/23\/another-sunday-at-sunol\/\">October 23:<\/a> Sunol Wilderness. Highlights: tarantula, calf close-ups.\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2005\/10\/30\/on-the-rocks\/\">October 30:<\/a> Castle Rock State Park.  Highlights: Old car axle, dangling climbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2006<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2006\/10\/02\/back-in-the-hills-nearby\/\"> October 1:<\/a> Joseph D. Grant County Park. Highlights: FOMFOK gang puts in an appearance.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2006\/10\/09\/images-from-the-ho-down\/\">October 9:<\/a> First (and only) International Outdoor Blogger Ho Down. As far as I know, everybody there still reads this blog. Highlights: Fall color, cool dead trees. <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2006\/10\/22\/winehiker-revisited\/\">October 22:<\/a> Skyline Ridge Open Space. Highlights: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.californiawinehikes.com\/winehiker\/\">Winehiker Russ<\/a> is my humble guide.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2006\/10\/29\/a-pleasant-hike\/\">October 29:<\/a> Pleasanton Ridge. Highlights: Discovered way-cool Sprig Lake Trail. <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2007\/10\/22\/an-alum-rock-outing\/\">October 21:<\/a> Alum Rock Park in San Jose. Highlights: Great grottos (great thing about the Web: you can&#8217;t smell the rotten-egg stench).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2007\/10\/29\/diablo-three-peaks-again\/\">October 28:<\/a> Three Peaks, Mount Diablo State Park.
