{"id":3708,"date":"2009-10-10T06:11:14","date_gmt":"2009-10-10T14:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/?p=3708"},"modified":"2009-10-10T06:14:06","modified_gmt":"2009-10-10T14:14:06","slug":"more-on-the-guides-project-at-everytrail-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tommangan.net\/twoheeldrive\/index.php\/2009\/10\/10\/more-on-the-guides-project-at-everytrail-com\/","title":{"rendered":"More on the Guides project at EveryTrail.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joost Schreve, CEO of EveryTrail.com, hired me to write more than two-dozen &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.everytrail.com\/guides\">Guides<\/a>,&#8221; for his site, which allows the GPS-enabled to record their adventures with words, pictures and GPS waypoints. <\/p>\n<p>Now Joost and his team are building a second tier at EveryTrail: guides full of travel tips and outings with turn-by-turn directions that people will be able to access either online or via iPhones and Blackberrys.  EveryTrail, based in Palo Alto, CA, decided to test the concept in its own back yard. <\/p>\n<p>My job was to provide a kind of digital putty that could be molded into whatever model makes sense as the project evolves.
