I have decided, at the urging of all, to embrace the whimsy of the trail a bit. In other words, to do more ridiculous things such as purchase bunny ears. Dead weight, and I don&#8217;t care!<\/p>\n<p>Last night, we wore clothing from the shelf, and I found a shiny purple wig and started pretending to be Olga: the Norwegian hiker. It was fun, and silly, and immature. This place is so home-like and comfortable. I borrowed a bike to ride down to the drug store and a straw hat to wear. A lot of folks started out this morning &#8211; some of them were dropped off 20 miles down the trail to continue walking. It&#8217;s sad to see them go, but that&#8217;s the way the trail works. You meet up with people at strange places, think you&#8217;ll never see them again, and then they take a zero day and BAM! you&#8217;re back together again.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how far that I&#8217;m hiking today, and I don&#8217;t care. All I know right now is that I will be wearing these bunny ears.
