Basic advice here. Anybody who tells you this more than once really means &#8220;Hike your own hike MY WAY.&#8221; Ignore them; they&#8217;re imbeciles.<\/li>\n<li> Gear is gear. What works for you may not work for someone else, and vice-versa. Gear talk is overly prevalent for the first month or so on the trail and after that, you rarely hear it.<\/li>\n<li> The best piece of gear you can carry on the PCT is the one between your ears.<\/li>\n<li> Smiles, not miles!
