Further study revealed a journal kept by woman who paddled a canoe the entire length of the Mississippi last summer. The whole journal isn&#8217;t posted yet, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trailjournals.com\/photos.cfm?id=195268\">her pictures<\/a> document the whole voyage.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t think you can imagine how vast the Mississippi is until you get out on it in a canoe. And then row from beginning to end.  A quick <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=canoeing+mississippi+river\">Google search<\/a> reveals this is a fairly common adventure &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bucktrack.com\/Canoeing_Down_the_Mississippi.html\">here&#8217;s one account by a guy <\/a>who did it after finishing the Appalachian Trail a couple months sooner than planned.
