A guy named Bill Batchelor who’s on the Pacific Crest Trail has been sending home videos from his days on the dirt. They’re quite good, not even too shaky when when he records as he walks.

This is an especially good one, in which he recounts, 200 or so miles in, the sensation that he’s proved to himself that he can handle the miles, the blisters and the physical ailments, but what eats at his craw is the physical distance from home and family. So, how does a guy stay motivated when this starts poking at his brain?

I hope for our sake he finds the urge to keep walking.
